NF2X Copper Aerial Bundled Cable

NF2X aerial bundled cable combines stranded copper conductors with extruded XLPE insulation in a twisted low-voltage overhead assembly. Two-core and four-core configurations are available for networks that specify copper aerial conductors, particularly extensions and replacement sections where existing terminals and maintenance practices are based on copper. The required SPLN reference, conductor size, core count, identification and delivery length should be stated for each enquiry.

Product Overview

Copper is the defining material difference between NF2X and the aluminium-conductor NFA2X family. At the same nominal cross-sectional area, the two products do not have the same resistance, mass, mechanical values or connection interface. Copper-compatible lugs and connectors must be selected for NF2X, and any transition to aluminium equipment requires a connection method suitable for the two metals.

The available NF2X range contains complete two-core and four-core assemblies rather than a universal configuration for every circuit. Selection should use the required number of cores, conductor area, finished bundle dimensions, route length and terminal arrangement. NF2X should not be proposed as a like-for-like replacement for an aluminium bundle solely because the nominal conductor size is the same.

Key Features

  • Copper conductor construction:Stranded copper cores provide the conductor construction defined in the SPLN schedule and offer copper-specific resistance values, which supports continuity with networks designed around copper conductors.
  • XLPE insulation:Extruded XLPE insulation separates each live core within the twisted assembly and provides the outdoor insulating and weathering layer required for the listed low-voltage application.
  • Two-core and four-core arrangements:Two-core and four-core formulas cover the technical specification circuit arrangements, allowing the buyer to select the number of insulated conductors as a complete bundle rather than assemble individual wires on site.
  • Copper connection interface:Copper-compatible lugs and connectors can be selected against conductor area and terminal material, helping manage the connection interface and any required bimetallic transition to aluminium equipment.

Product Applications

  • Low-voltage pole-to-pole distribution in utilities or industrial sites whose specified network construction uses copper aerial bundles
  • Two-core or four-core overhead circuits using the NF2X configurations defined by the applicable SPLN requirements
  • Extensions and replacements where existing copper conductors, terminals and maintenance equipment make material continuity important

From Production to Delivery

From raw material preparation to final shipmen, every stage is caretuly controled to ensure consistent conductor quality, reliable pertormance, and sae delivery. Our roduction,
inspection, packaging, and logistics processes are managed in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.

cable production line with finished cable being wound onto a reel

Production

Copper wires are stranded to the specified cross-section, each conductor is extruded with XLPE and marked as required, and the insulated cores are twisted into the ordered two-core or four-core NF2X bundle.

Cable and conductor quality inspection and testing

Inspection

Inspection checks copper conductor construction and resistance, XLPE thickness and surface, core identification, lay, bundle diameter and the electrical or mechanical values called for by the SPLN schedule and purchase order.

Packaged cable drums stored in the factory warehouse

Packaging

Because copper bundles have their own mass and handling characteristics, reel size and delivery length are planned around cable weight, bend limits, site equipment and the customer’s preferred installation sections.

Wooden cable drums secured inside a shipping container

Shipping

Reel labels and dispatch documents record NF2X, conductor material, complete core formula, standard, length and production batch, helping the receiving team separate the copper cable from visually similar aluminium bundles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is NF2X quoted separately from NFA2X?

NF2X uses copper conductors, whereas NFA2X uses aluminium. That changes resistance, mass, mechanical values, terminals and price. We keep the offers separate and state the conductor material and full core formula clearly, so your purchasing and site teams can compare the correct assemblies without relying on a similar product code.

Yes. Two-core and four-core NF2X configurations are available within the referenced SPLN range. Tell us the conductor size and circuit arrangement, and we will quote the matching copper-conductor configuration with its dimensions and mechanical data.

We can help narrow the connector and lug options once we know the copper cross-section, insulation construction and terminal material. Where the connected equipment is aluminium, we will flag the need to consider a suitable bimetallic interface rather than treating a standard aluminium ABC connector as a universal choice.

A nominal cross-section alone is not enough for that decision. Share the existing cable data and required electrical and mechanical duties; we can compare the technical specification resistance, mass, bundle dimensions and connection implications, then prepare a copper offer for your engineering team to assess against the network design.

We can identify the applicable technical specification table and list the requested inspection or test documents in the quotation. Please tell us which records your project needs, such as routine test information or material documentation, so the commercial offer reflects the documentation scope instead of adding it after production planning.

Please send the SPLN or utility specification, voltage, copper conductor size, two-core or four-core formula, quantity, delivery lengths, connectors, destination and inspection requirements. When only a code or old schedule is available, attach it and we can help translate it into a clearer quotation request.
