AS/NZS 3008 Multicore + Earth Control Cable 0.6/1kV
AS/NZS 3008 Multicore + Earth Control Cable is a 0.6/1kV PVC insulated and PVC sheathed control cable presented with installation-based current rating, resistance, reactance and voltage-drop data. Available in 1.5 mm² and 2.5 mm² from 2C+E to 50C+E, it is intended for fixed control circuits where cable size must be selected according to load, route and installation condition.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The cable combines plain annealed copper conductors, PVC V-90 insulation, white numbered control cores, a green/yellow earth conductor and a PVC 5V-90 outer sheath. The product range is available in 1.5 mm² and 2.5 mm² conductor sizes, with multicore configurations extending from 2C+E to 50C+E.
The main selection focus is electrical performance under different installation methods. Current ratings are provided for unenclosed-in-air, direct-buried and buried-in-duct conditions, together with maximum d.c. resistance at 20°C, maximum a.c. resistance at 75°C, reactance and three-phase voltage drop at 75°C. These values allow the buyer or engineer to compare conductor size, core configuration and route conditions before quotation.
KEY FEATURES

From Production to Delivery
From raw material preparation to final shipmen, every stage is caretuly controled to ensure consistent conductor quality, reliable pertormance, and sae delivery. Our roduction,
inspection, packaging, and logistics processes are managed in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
Production
Plain annealed copper conductors are stranded to the specified construction, insulated with PVC V-90, laid up with the required green/yellow earth conductor, and finished with a PVC 5V-90 outer sheath. Conductor size, core count, insulation thickness and cable dimensions follow the approved design.
Inspection
Inspection includes conductor resistance, insulation and sheath condition, core identification, overall dimensions and finished-cable electrical checks. Current-rating selection is matched to the intended installation condition.
Packaging
Finished cables are wound onto suitable drums according to ordered cable size and length. Cable ends are secured and protected, and drum identification can include cable type, conductor size, core configuration, length and project reference.
Shipping
Before shipment, cable drums and accompanying documents are checked against the order and packing list. Product identification, inspection records and technical documentation can be prepared according to customer and project requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
What current rating does 1.5 mm² 2C+E have?
18 A in air, 14 A direct buried and 22 A in ducts.
What current rating does 2.5 mm² 2C+E have?
26 A in air, 20 A direct buried and 31 A in ducts.
What is the listed voltage drop for 1.5 mm²?
33.0 mV/A·m at 75°C for three-phase.
What is the listed voltage drop for 2.5 mm²?
18.0 mV/A·m at 75°C for three-phase.
Why do current ratings vary?
Because conductor size, core configuration and installation condition change the thermal conditions of the cable.
