BS 7629-1 Fire Resistant Screened Control Cable 300/500V

BS 7629-1 Fire Resistant Screened Control Cable is a 300/500V silicone-rubber insulated, overall-screened LSZH control cable designed for fire-resistant control and signalling circuits. It combines plain annealed copper conductors, fire-resistant silicone-rubber insulation, aluminum/polyester overall screening with tinned-copper drain wire, and a low-smoke zero-halogen outer sheath.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The cable is basically designed to BS 7629-1 and is intended for fixed control, signalling and life-safety circuits where circuit integrity during fire conditions is required. Conductors may be solid Class 1 or stranded Class 2 in accordance with IEC/EN 60228. The cores are insulated with fire-resistant silicone-rubber compound type EI2, cabled together with non-hygroscopic fillers, wrapped with an aluminum/polyester overall screen and tinned-copper drain wire, and finished with an LSZH sheath.

The available range includes 2-, 3-, 4-, 7-, 12- and 19-core constructions. For 2-, 3- and 4-core cables, an uninsulated tinned-copper circuit protective conductor of the same section and class as the insulated conductors is used; for cables with more than four conductors, a 0.5 mm² tinned-copper drain wire is provided. The listed fire-performance references include circuit integrity, mechanical shock, water-spray, flame propagation, halogen-free and low-smoke tests.
