Twisted Link Plates — Type GD
GD twisted link plates combine a central eye with a transverse connection arrangement extending to both sides of the body. This arrangement provides separate interfaces for the central mating fitting and the adjoining side members within an overhead line assembly. GD and GD-S models differ in body dimensions, bolt designation, mass and rated failure load. Selection therefore starts with the complete connection layout, including lateral clearance and the central eye, rather than the series name alone. The steel parts are hot-dip galvanised and use bronze cotter pins to retain the bolted connections.
Product Overview
The GD body has a central drilled eye and two lateral bolted positions on a common transverse axis. GD twisted straps are matched to the eye connection and the two side interfaces as one assembly. Overall width L, eye diameter and metric bolt designation M are useful starting dimensions; the body profile and internal clearances complete the fit assessment.
The S suffix identifies a different body variant. For example, GD-12 and GD-12S share a 120 kN rated failure load in Datasheet, but their widths and masses differ. The common rating does not define the surrounding connection geometry or a permissible load at each side position.
Key Features
- Central eye connection: The drilled eye provides a defined interface for the central adjoining fitting.
- Transverse side arrangement: The lateral bolted positions share an axis across the body.
- Distinct GD and GD-S models: Each model retains its own dimensions, rated failure load and mass.
- Specified retaining-pin material: Bronze cotter pins retain the bolted connections of the galvanised steel assembly.
Product Applications
- Transverse string connection assemblies: fitted at the GD position where the two side members meet the lateral connections and a central link engages the eye.
- Overhead line attachment hardware: connects an eye-ended member to the matching side supports in assemblies that use the illustrated GD transverse layout.

From Production to Delivery
From raw material preparation to final shipmen, every stage is caretuly controled to ensure consistent conductor quality, reliable pertormance, and sae delivery. Our roduction,
inspection, packaging, and logistics processes are managed in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
Production
The general workflow prepares the central body and transverse connection positions, finishes the eye and applies the specified steel surface treatment. Assembly then brings together the body, bolted connections and retaining pins.
Inspection
Inspection covers the transverse alignment, eye, bolt positions and body profile. Mechanical verification uses the defined loading arrangement rather than assuming a separate rating for each side.
Packaging
Packing protects the projecting threaded ends and keeps the retention components with the correct GD model. GD and GD-S identifiers remain visible on the model labels.
Shipping
The dispatch record distinguishes every suffix and quantity so that the transverse fittings can be allocated to their intended assembly positions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can GD-12S replace GD-12 when both show 120 kN?
Datasheet gives widths L of 250 mm for GD-12S and 240 mm for GD-12, with masses of 1.7 kg and 1.35 kg respectively. Other body dimensions also differ. Replacement requires the side connections, central eye and available space to match the intended assembly.
How should GD twisted link plates for overhead lines be specified?
Identify the complete model, the central mating fitting, the two side members and the required loading arrangement. Include the dimensional drawing and required test evidence so that the connection layout and mechanical requirement can be assessed together.
Does this fitting allow unrestricted rotation or equal loading on both sides?
The connection dimensions alone do not establish either property. Movement depends on the assembled joints and surrounding clearance, while side forces depend on the complete load path. Any movement or load-sharing requirement needs an assembly-level definition.
