UL 1277 CU THHN Type TC Control Cable 600V
UL 1277 CU THHN Control Cable is a 600V unshielded multicore Type TC substation/control cable with annealed Class B compressed stranded copper conductors, heat- and moisture-resistant PVC insulation, a clear nylon conductor jacket and a black PVC overall jacket. It is designed for tray, conduit, underground duct and direct-burial installations in wet or dry locations.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Predominantly used in utility substations, this cable may be installed indoors or outdoors in cable trays, conduit and underground ducts, or directly buried. The brochure specifies conductor operating temperatures up to 75°C in wet locations and 90°C in dry locations.
The finished cable is unshielded. Insulated and nylon-jacketed conductors are cabled with non-hygroscopic polyethylene fillers where needed to maintain a circular cross-section, wrapped with a Mylar binder and protected by a heat-, moisture- and sunlight-resistant black PVC jacket.

Packaging
Finished cable is wound on suitable reels or drums according to cable size, weight and ordered length. Product identification may include UL 1277 / Type TC designation, conductor size and count, voltage, length and project reference, subject to the approved marking.
Shipping
Before shipment, cable identification, packing and requested technical documents are checked against the order. Certification, test reports and project-specific approval records should be agreed before production.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the principal product standard for this cable?
UL 1277 is the principal standard for the completed 600V Type TC cable. UL 83 Type THHN and UL 66 Type TFFN are additional conductor/component references listed in the brochure.
Can this cable be installed in tray, conduit or underground duct?
Yes. The brochure states indoor and outdoor installation in cable trays, conduit and underground duct. Installation details such as fill, support, pulling tension and termination space still need project verification.
Can it be directly buried or used in wet locations?
The brochure states direct-burial and wet-location use, with conductor operation not exceeding 75°C when wet. Confirm the exact cable marking and approval documentation for the offered construction before procurement.
What temperature rating applies?
The supplied product data states a maximum conductor operating temperature of 75°C in wet locations and 90°C in dry locations.
Is this product shielded?
No. Every schedule group is identified as unshielded, and the detailed construction does not include a metallic shield or drain wire. If circuit interference control requires shielding, a separate shielded construction should be selected.
What products do you supply for the power cable industry?
We provide a wide range of cable materials and electrical products, including aluminum conductors, aluminum rods, aluminum wires, overhead conductors, medium and low voltage power cables, cable insulation materials, filling materials, shielding materials, and cable manufacturing consumables. We provide customized solutions according to different cable manufacturing requirements.
