AS/NZS 3008 Unarmoured Multicore Control Cable 0.6/1kV

AS/NZS 3008 Unarmoured Multicore Control Cable is a 0.6/1kV XLPE-insulated, PVC-sheathed control cable presented with installation-based current rating, resistance, reactance and three-phase voltage-drop data for practical cable selection. Available in 10 mm², 16 mm² and 25 mm² copper conductor sizes, the cable is suitable for three-core and four-core fixed control circuits installed unenclosed in air, direct buried or in underground ducts where mechanical armour is not required.

Product Highlights

  • 6/1kV XLPE/PVC unarmoured multicore control cable.
  • Current ratings for air, direct burial and ducts.
  • Maximum DC resistance at 20°C.
  • Maximum AC resistance at 90°C.
  • Reactance and three-phase voltage-drop values.
  • 10 mm², 16 mm² and 25 mm² conductor sizes.
  • Three-core and four-core construction.

Current Rating by Installation Method

Current-carrying capacity changes with installation method because the surrounding environment affects heat dissipation. The product data therefore separates unenclosed-in-air, direct-buried and buried-in-duct conditions. Across all three sizes, the direct-buried values are highest in the listed data, while the in-air and duct values differ according to the installation condition.

From Production to Delivery

From raw material preparation to final shipmen, every stage is caretuly controled to ensure consistent conductor quality, reliable pertormance, and sae delivery. Our roduction,
inspection, packaging, and logistics processes are managed in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.

cable production line with finished cable being wound onto a reel

Production

Plain annealed copper conductors are stranded to the specified construction, insulated with XLPE X-90, laid up into the required three-core or four-core configuration and finished with a PVC 5V-90 outer sheath. Conductor size, insulation thickness and overall cable dimensions follow the approved design.

Cable and conductor quality inspection and testing

Inspection

Inspection focuses on conductor construction, insulation condition, core identification, sheath quality, overall dimensions and electrical performance. Conductor resistance and dimensional checks are verified against the approved technical schedule before release.

Overhead conductors packed on wooden drums for shipment

Packaging

Finished cables are wound onto suitable drums according to ordered size and length. Cable ends are secured and protected, while drum identification can include cable type, conductor size, core count, length and project reference.

Wooden drums of overhead conductors loaded into shipping container

Shipping

Before shipment, cable drums and accompanying documents are checked against the order and packing list. Product identification, inspection records and technical documentation can be prepared according to customer and project requirements.
