UL 1277 CU FR-XLPE LCT Shielded PVC Jacket Control Cable 600V
UL 1277 CU FR-XLPE LCT Shielded PVC Jacket Control Cable is a 600V multi-conductor industrial control cable with Class B compressed bare-copper conductors, flame-retardant XLPE insulation, a 5 mil LCT tape shield and a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) outer jacket. It is designed for wet and dry industrial control circuits requiring tray-cable construction and an overall shielding layer.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The cable uses 7-strand Class B compressed bare-copper conductors, FR-XLPE insulation, a 5 mil LCT tape shield and a PVC overall jacket. Polypropylene filler is used on cables with five or fewer conductors, while cables with more than five conductors use a polyester flat-thread binder tape. A rip cord is included for easier jacket removal.
The source product data lists 600V service in wet and dry areas, conduits, ducts, troughs, trays, direct burial and messenger-supported aerial routes. It states maximum conductor temperatures of 90°C for normal operation, 130°C for emergency overload and 250°C for short-circuit conditions. UL-rated constructions may be used in Class I, II and III, Division 2 hazardous locations, and constructions with three or more conductors are stated as listed for exposed runs (TC-ER).

WHY LCT TAPE SHIELDING?
The defining product feature in this version is the 5 mil LCT tape shield applied over the assembled insulated conductors. The shield provides an overall metallic barrier for control circuits where interference control is required, while the PVC jacket protects the completed cable construction.
Shield continuity, grounding, bonding and termination details depend on the project wiring method and equipment design. State the required shield construction and termination practice in the inquiry, and confirm the exact listing, test documents and cable marking before approval.
PRODUCT APPLICATIONS

From Production to Delivery
From raw material preparation to final shipmen, every stage is caretuly controled to ensure consistent conductor quality, reliable pertormance, and sae delivery. Our roduction,
inspection, packaging, and logistics processes are managed in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
Production
Class B compressed bare-copper conductors are prepared, insulated with FR-XLPE, assembled with polypropylene filler or polyester binder according to the number of conductors, shielded with the specified 5 mil LCT tape, fitted with the rip cord and finished with the PVC jacket.
Inspection
Inspection focuses on conductor construction, insulation/jacket thickness, LCT shield construction and continuity, overall diameter, conductor and cable weight, DC/AC resistance, bending-radius data, cable marking and project-specified test documentation.
Packaging
Finished cable is wound on reels or drums suitable for its diameter, weight and ordered length. Product identification can include conductor size, core count, standard reference, length and project number.
Shipping
Before shipment, cable marking, packing, inspection records and requested standard/test documents are checked against the order and project approval requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the practical difference between this shielded cable and the unshielded PVC version?
This version adds a 5 mil LCT tape shield over the assembled insulated conductors. The unshielded PVC version omits that metallic shielding layer. Select the shielded construction when the project requires an overall screen and confirm its grounding and termination method with the system designer.
What does the 5 mil LCT tape shield mean?
The source construction identifies a 5 mil LCT tape shield. The catalogue does not provide a shielding-effectiveness value, coverage percentage or detailed alloy description, so those properties should be confirmed in the technical offer when required by the project.
How should the shield be grounded and terminated?
Shield grounding and termination depend on the control system, noise environment, equipment manufacturer and project wiring rules. Define single-point or multi-point bonding, gland/connector requirements and shield continuity before production and installation.
How should the 60°C, 75°C and 90°C ampacity columns be used?
Use the column permitted by the project conductor/termination temperature rating, then apply code-required derating for ambient temperature, grouping and installation conditions. The table values are source product data and are not a substitute for the governing electrical-code calculation.
Which conductor sizes are included in the published schedule?
The supplied product schedule lists 14, 12 and 10 AWG conductors. Select the required conductor size and core count only from the configurations shown in the technical table, or request engineering confirmation for a size not listed.
What products do you supply for the power cable industry?
We provide a wide range of cable materials and electrical products, including aluminum conductors, aluminum rods, aluminum wires, overhead conductors, medium and low voltage power cables, cable insulation materials, filling materials, shielding materials, and cable manufacturing consumables. We provide customized solutions according to different cable manufacturing requirements.
