UL 1277 CU FR-XLPE Thermoset CPE Jacket Control Cable 600V
UL 1277 CU FR-XLPE Thermoset CPE Jacket Control Cable is a 600V multi-conductor industrial control cable with Class B compressed bare-copper conductors, flame-retardant XLPE insulation and a thermoset chlorinated-polyethylene (CPE) outer jacket. It is designed for wet and dry industrial control circuits requiring tray-cable construction, strong thermal performance and a robust thermoset CPE jacket.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The cable uses 7-strand Class B compressed bare-copper conductors, FR-XLPE insulation and a thermoset CPE overall jacket. Polypropylene filler is used on cables with five or fewer conductors, while cables with more than five conductors use a polyester flat-thread binder tape. A rip cord is included for easier jacket removal.
The source product data lists 600V service in wet and dry areas, conduits, ducts, troughs, trays, direct burial and messenger-supported aerial routes. It states maximum conductor temperatures of 90°C for normal operation, 130°C for emergency overload and 250°C for short-circuit conditions. UL-rated constructions may be used in Class I, II and III, Division 2 hazardous locations, and constructions with three or more conductors are stated as listed for exposed runs (TC-ER).

WHY THERMOSET CPE JACKET?
The defining product difference in this version is the thermoset CPE outer jacket. Compared with a generic CPE description, the source explicitly identifies the jacket as thermoset chlorinated polyethylene, making jacket chemistry part of the product specification rather than a secondary option.
Where a tender specifies CPE jacket material, oil/chemical resistance, flame performance or environmental durability, the exact required tests and approval documents should be stated in the inquiry. The product page should not infer unlisted material-performance ratings beyond what the source and manufacturer documentation support.
PRODUCT APPLICATIONS

From Production to Delivery
From raw material preparation to final shipmen, every stage is caretuly controled to ensure consistent conductor quality, reliable pertormance, and sae delivery. Our roduction,
inspection, packaging, and logistics processes are managed in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
Production
Class B compressed bare-copper conductors are prepared, insulated with FR-XLPE, assembled with polypropylene filler or polyester binder according to the number of conductors, fitted with the rip cord and finished with the thermoset CPE jacket.
Inspection
Inspection focuses on conductor construction, insulation/jacket thickness, overall diameter, conductor and cable weight, DC/AC resistance, bending-radius data, cable marking and project-specified test documentation.
Packaging
Finished cable is wound on reels or drums suitable for its diameter, weight and ordered length. Product identification can include conductor size, core count, standard reference, length and project number.
Shipping
Before shipment, cable marking, packing, inspection records and requested standard/test documents are checked against the order and project approval requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the practical difference between this CPE-TS cable and a standard CPE-jacket control cable?
The source explicitly identifies the outer jacket as thermoset chlorinated polyethylene. That makes the jacket material part of the product specification rather than a generic CPE description. For a tender, use the exact jacket wording required by the specification and request supporting material/test documentation where necessary.
What should I verify if TC-ER is required?
The source states that UL-rated constructions with three or more conductors are listed for exposed runs. Confirm that the exact conductor size and core count being supplied carries the required TC-ER marking/listing on the actual cable documentation.
Can this cable be used in hazardous locations?
The source states that UL-rated constructions can be used in Class I, II and III, Division 2 hazardous locations. The complete installation still depends on the cable marking, fittings, seals, wiring method and the governing NEC/project requirements.
How should the 60°C, 75°C and 90°C ampacity columns be used?
Use the column permitted by the project conductor/termination temperature rating, then apply code-required derating for ambient temperature, grouping and installation conditions. The table values are source product data and are not a substitute for the governing electrical-code calculation.
Why is there an 18 AWG 20-core row but no wider 18 AWG range?
That is how the supplied product table is structured. The source only lists one 18 AWG construction, so the page preserves that exact scope instead of inventing additional 18 AWG combinations.
What products do you supply for the power cable industry?
We provide a wide range of cable materials and electrical products, including aluminum conductors, aluminum rods, aluminum wires, overhead conductors, medium and low voltage power cables, cable insulation materials, filling materials, shielding materials, and cable manufacturing consumables. We provide customized solutions according to different cable manufacturing requirements.
