UL 1277 XHHW/PVC Type TC Control Cable 600V
UL 1277 XHHW/PVC Type TC Control Cable is a compact, flame-retardant 600V multicore control cable with XHHW-2 copper conductors, FRXLPE insulation and a moisture- and sunlight-resistant PVC outer jacket. It is designed for industrial power and control circuits requiring Type TC tray-cable installation and durable PVC jacketing.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The cable uses stranded bare annealed copper conductors with flame-retardant, moisture-resistant FRXLPE insulation. A flame-retardant PVC jacket provides the overall covering and is also described as moisture- and sunlight-resistant; LSOH can be supplied on request.
Primary installation environments include cable trays, raceways and outdoor messenger-supported routes. The product data also lists direct burial, Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations and Class 1 control circuits. Constructions with three or more conductors are stated as suitable for exposed runs (TC-ER), and the cable may be used in wet or dry locations up to 90°C.

From Production to Delivery
From raw material preparation to final shipmen, every stage is caretuly controled to ensure consistent conductor quality, reliable pertormance, and sae delivery. Our roduction,
inspection, packaging, and logistics processes are managed in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
Production
Stranded bare annealed copper conductors are insulated with FRXLPE, assembled into the required multicore configuration and finished with the specified flame-retardant PVC jacket.
Inspection
Inspection focuses on conductor construction, insulation and jacket condition, finished dimensions, cable weight, cable marking and the technical documents required by the project.
Packaging
Finished cable is wound on reels or drums according to cable size, weight and ordered length. Product identification can include AWG size, core count, standard reference, length and project reference.
Shipping
Before shipment, cable identification, packing and requested test / approval documents are checked against the order. Project-specific documentation requirements should be agreed before production.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I choose the PVC-jacketed version instead of the CPE-jacketed version?
Both product families use XHHW-2 FRXLPE-insulated conductors, so the main difference is the outer jacket. Choose the PVC-jacketed version when the project specification calls for PVC or when the required approval package is based on that construction. If the specification calls for CPE, use the separate XHHW/CPE product instead.
What is the difference between Type TC and TC-ER?
Type TC identifies the tray-cable product category. TC-ER is relevant when qualifying cable is permitted to leave the tray for an exposed run under the applicable installation rules. The product data states that constructions with three or more conductors are listed for exposed runs, but the exact ordered construction should still be checked for TC-ER marking.
Can this cable be used outdoors or for direct burial?
Those applications are stated in the product data, and the PVC jacket is described as moisture- and sunlight-resistant. For project approval, confirm the actual cable marking/listing for sunlight resistance, wet location and direct burial.
What should I verify for Class 1, Division 2 use?
The product data lists Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations. The complete installation also depends on fittings, seals, wiring method and the governing electrical code, so the cable should be reviewed as part of the whole hazardous-location design.
Can LSOH be supplied instead of PVC?
The source states that LSOH is available on request. Because changing the jacket can change flame, smoke and approval performance, the alternative construction should be technically reviewed and supported by the required test or certification evidence before it is offered as equivalent.
What products do you supply for the power cable industry?
We provide a wide range of cable materials and electrical products, including aluminum conductors, aluminum rods, aluminum wires, overhead conductors, medium and low voltage power cables, cable insulation materials, filling materials, shielding materials, and cable manufacturing consumables. We provide customized solutions according to different cable manufacturing requirements.
